Although Spurrier Construction was only registered as a Close Corporation in 2006, it has been in operation since 1973. Bob Spurrier, the sole proprietor until 2006, was born and raised in Birmingham, UK. He moved to Johannesburg, South Africa in 1971 after achieving his 'Mechanical Engineering' qualification. He has completed many an alteration, renovation, residential and spec home since moving here.

After attaining his 'Bachelor of Science in Building' degree from Wits University, Bob's son Matthew joined Spurrier Construction in 2003, later becoming a partner in Spurrier Construction CC.

In 2004, an opportunity arose that fulfilled Bob and Matthews' dream of living by the sea. Spurrier Construction moved to Plettenberg Bay and has since then been re-establishing its name by building top quality, up-market residential homes.
